The key to success in any work environment includes maximizing a healthy balance of both hard skills and soft skills, albeit soft skills rarely get the recognition and attention they deserve. Hard skills are the tangible technical or task-driven skills that you learn or acquire through education, instruction, repetition and practice. Soft Skills are a combination of people skills, social skills, and personal attributes that enables people to navigate through an environment with others. Finding ways to exemplify soft skills in the workplace enhances ones potential to work well with others, perform well, and achieve goals with complementing hard skills.
This workshop will provide a review of soft skills that have proven to be beneficial in child welfare, as well as explore strategies and techniques for ways to maximize ones soft skills.
