Case documentation is a necessary skill in social services, and the habit of documenting in an effective way can take time to build. Documentation enables workers in social services to describe what happened, and what they did, in social interventions. There are many barriers to effective documentation, including intensive workloads and distressing scenarios which can cloud the ability to document objectively. As legal documents which carry ramifications for both the present and the future, case documentation must be timely, accurate, and easy to understand by others.
In this 3-hour workshop, participants will explore and review principles of successful case documentation. Topics in this workshop include:
