Orientation to Child Welfare

The child welfare system in Manitoba is complex and ever-evolving. In order to understand and navigate through the system, it's imperative to first explore its history, detailed structure, and purpose. This one day training will review the current governance structure and how it came to be, and will provide an introductory overview of key components/factors of consideration in child welfare, including the CFS Act (regulations and legislation), the CFS Standards, Bill c-92, plus a review of basic practices and approaches to engaging with families.
